We are looking for a dedicated Accountant to handle the execution of day-to-day accounting operations for our software and sales services divisions. This role requires a strong grasp of accounting principles and experience with revenue recognition in both software and sales environments. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, processing transactions, and assisting in monthly financial reporting ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Recognition: Accurately record and monitor revenue transactions, ensuring compliance with GAAP for software (e.g., subscription-based revenue) and sales services.
- Accounts Receivable and Payable: Process client billings, apply cash receipts, and manage collections. Handle vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations in line with service agreements.
- Financial Transactions: Record financial transactions across general ledger accounts for software licensing, sales services, and related expenses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and client accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets and forecasts for both software and sales divisions, providing insight into financial performance.
- Monthly Close Process: Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Present insights to senior management to support decision-making.
- Compliance & Audit Preparation: Ensure financial activities comply with regulatory standards and support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in software or sales service industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) is preferred.
- Accounting Software: Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar); experience with CRM or ERP systems is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy in financial data and reporting.
- Excel Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members and clients.
