We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of accounting principles and hands-on experience with QuickBooks. Key Responsibilities
- Data Entry & Record Keeping: Accurately enter financial transactions into QuickBooks, ensuring all data is complete and accurate.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, prepare payments, and monitor accounts receivable; assist in collections as needed.
- Bank Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts in QuickBooks.
- Expense Tracking: Maintain and track expenses, verifying receipts and documentation to support budget adherence.
- Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of basic financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and other internal reports.
- Support Month-End Close: Provide support for month-end and year-end close activities by preparing journal entries and other required documentation.
- File Management: Maintain organized financial records, both digital and hard copies, to ensure easy access for audits and reviews.
- Assist with Tax Preparation: Support the team with tax filing preparations by providing necessary documentation and reports.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- QuickBooks Knowledge: Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (desktop or online) is required.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy in financial data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: Basic knowledge of Excel, including formulas and spreadsheets.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills for working with team members and external vendors.
- Team-Oriented: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take direction from senior accounting staff.
Preferred Skills
- Experience: Internship or 1 year of relevant experience in accounting or finance is a plus.
- Problem-Solving: Basic analytical skills and a proactive approach to solving issues.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
